Stuffed Pruned

pitted prunes…….350 g.
walnut halves……..1/2 cup
margarine or butter………2 tbsp
water……….1 cup
sugar……..34 cup
Pomegranate syrup……..1 tbsp
lemon……….juice of 1/2 (available in Middle Eastern Groceries)

PREPARATION

Stuff each prunes with the walnut halves.
Heat butter or margarine in a sauce pan and sauté for about 5 minutes.
Add the sugar, water, pomegranate syrup, and lemon juice.
Simmer, uncovered, over a low heat for about 20 minutes or until tender and a thick syrup is formed.
Serves as a side dish.
